At WestMed Marine Surveys, our mission is to deliver clear, objective, and technically sound yacht inspections to support informed decision-making.

The company was founded by Tommaso Vespa, a qualified yacht captain and marine engineer with over a decade of hands-on experience aboard large sailing and motor yachts. 

After managing extensive maintenance and refit projects around the Mediterranean, Tommaso decided to bring his deep technical knowledge and attention to detail to the field of independent yacht surveying.

Based in Barcelona and operating across the Western Mediterranean, we combine real-world onboard experience with structured reporting to provide private owners, buyers, and insurers with the insight they need, grounded in facts, not assumptions.

Each survey is conducted with transparency, precision, and a practical mindset, always tailored to the specific type, usage, and condition of the vessel. Whether you are buying, selling, refitting, or simply maintaining your yacht, we work alongside you to protect your investment.

All our reports are written in plain, professional English, Spanish or Italian, depending on the client's preference, and are technically reviewed to ensure clarity, accuracy, and ease of understanding, even for those without an engineering background.
